Recreating
a world in Maya means modelling everything with their imperfections,
texturing them with their unique stories and then lighting and shading
them so they reveal themselves in the most wonderful way. Everything
in this world has a story to tell, whether it is a person or an item. I
aimed to voice such a story through these everyday items. Their story,
of how they were made, handled, how much in use they came to be or even
how old they are. Texturing these objects for me was specially a
highlight as it is then that they truly came alive and spoke their lines
in this great big act of life.
This
was created as a project in my third year at Supinfocom Rubika, DSK
International Campus. (A five year International Master's program
specializing in CGI).The goal here was to not only learn the software but also master reality and produce something believable.
While
modelling, it was the details, the dents, the imperfections, the skin
peeling off that tell a story, that really motivated me.
I've included some of my process here.
